Last Saturday's Haul

It was a good week thrifting!

Red Dress

I got a new red dress. (95 cents I believe.)  It doesn't look like much on the hanger but it fits me great.  It's 1980s or early1990s but frequently they used similar cuts to the 1940s and the fabric pattern is appropriate as well. Very fall appropriate, which is good because my navy blue wool skirt has been getting way too much use lately.

Sabotage and Py

I got two games. (65 cents and 95 cents) Well, really these are the husband's choice, he was quite excited about them.  To be frank, I hope I don't get roped into playing either -- they are both strategy based, not my strong suit.  I'm hoping he and Carl can play over our Thanksgiving Weekend Extravaganza.

DSCN6091

I got this delightful Turkey, who will certainly be making an appearance for the TWE (Thanksgiving Weekend Extravaganza) for just under a dollar. Doesn't he look friendly? It was so wet out he was the only one I managed to shoot outside before my feet froze.  The rest of the picture were shot in our (very) red bedroom.

Sultry Mr. Cat

And the piece de resistance, a weird cat statue! I'm fairly certain he's from the 60s -- he is a very very pale pink with some weird black specks that appear to be under the glaze.  It was difficult to get all of the dirt out of those strange flower? coral? things growing on his body. (I'm concerned it might be a parasite.) He is sheer mid-century awkwardness and I couldn't be happier.

In addition, I also got a silverware tray, which is already in use, (avocado green, oh yeah!) and a black belt. (too boring to be photographed but direly needed.) Grand total just over 5 bucks!
