More craft room adventures

Today's post will be short and sweet, due to technical failures with almost all of my electronic devices today (boo!).

I spent a good chunk of today priming and painting two pieces of furniture that will be additions to my wonderful craft room. A chest of drawers I've had for years, but despised (it's just plain ugly) and a side table I purchased for 8 bucks at a thrift shop to complete one half of my craft table (I still need to purchase the fence post I'm going to use as the leg(s) and paint and prime those).

I only primed the dresser with 2 coats of primer tonight, as I'm not quite sure what color I want this piece to be in (I'm thinking a super pale blue) and I need to purchase some new knobs because the old ones were disgusting. (Please forgive the pretty crappy quality of these images. The workshop where I was working has absolutely no windows and only one light (bulb) in the entire room. And unfortunately I couldn't drag these pieces outside as it's cold here and has been raining all day.)

The side table however is now an amazing color of blue, called Peacock Blue by Benjamin Moore. I'm using the super low VOC stuff which is slightly pricier but I prefer stuff that's more family friendly! I used two coats and that baby looks pretty amazing (I have no before photos, because I quite simply forgot, but it was just white before).

Now I simply need to polyurethane my table top, and build that wonderful craft table of mine, and my room will be that much closer to being completed. Yay.

I might have a brief post in the future regarding dress progress and an apron I'm currently making, so keep your eyes peeled.

  2. That will definitely be happening Deb! More than likely, I will be completing my craft within the next 2 weeks! Then it's on to redoing a bathroom and making a sliding barn door, eep?
